Colas, 1557. Set of 32 of the 36 quires from the first year of this fashion journal written by Le Brun, rarer, according to Colas, than the "Cabinet des modes" of which it forms the complement. This publication appeared from February 25, 1790 to April 1, 1793, i.e. 3 full years of 36 quires and one year of only three quires. This is the ONLY FRENCH JOURNAL OF FASHION PUBLISHED DURING THE FRENCH REVOLUTION. This copy includes the first almost complete year, i.e. 32 quires published from February 25, 1790 to February 15, 1791. Cahiers 3, 6, 18 and 27 are missing, but it includes 34 of the 36 fashion engravings in color, as the plates for cahiers 6 and 27 are still present. As is often the case, the music engravings have not been preserved, with the exception of those in sections 32 and 34. A good copy in an antique binding, with rubbing to the headpieces. First endpaper partly disbound. The plate in section 27 has been doubled.
