Ostrich egg mounted on a base with palmettes The upper part probably depicts a map of the Arctic. The scene is animated by three whalers, harpooning scenes on longboats led by numerous characters and whales diving, showing their baleen or being towed. The lower part of the egg is engraved with four masks alternating human faces and leonine heads. Attributed to the 19th century.
