Kiliç sword, Ottoman Empire, second half of the 19th century Single-edged curved steel saber with two gutters, engraved on the heel with palmette scrolls and trophies. Silver pistol grip mount stamped with sah and tughra and chased palmettes on the tang. Double curved quillon guard in silver, stamped with the sah and with cast rocaille decoration. Wooden scabbard with silver fittings chased with palmettes and bearing several sah and tughra hallmarks, the steel end with gold-inlaid scroll decoration. Total length: 97 cm; length without scabbard: 93.5 cm Scabbard sheath missing, wear, oxidized blade, scratches and small dents on silver fittings.
