Badiye wine cup, Iran, 18th century Large campaniform copper bowl on a truncated cone-shaped pedestal with engraved, then tin-plated decoration. Under the slightly flared lip, a Shi'ite prayer in Persian nasta'liq on a floral background, interrupted by a niche housing the name of an owner, Mohammad Baqî. Below the epigraphic band, a frieze of fleurons encircled by a stem, then a register of staggered floral lambrequins.
