Eugène BOUDIN.
L.A.S., Paris June 10, 1891, to Ferdinand MARTIN; 3pages in-8 (fragile paper, slight marginal cracks).
He is "annoyed, exhausted [...] Never have I seen myself solicited, tormented and pushed as I am, or rather as I have been recently. Everyone wants Bn [Boudin] - it's a rage... I'm not complaining, but the way I'm wobbly, it breaks me to work too hard... and I'm a strange machine, when I'm mounted I have to operate despite the fatigue"...
He recalls "the follies that were done on the Roederer paintings [June 5, 1891, sale of the collection of Jules Roederer, of Le Havre]. I saw Van der Velde at the sale, but I suppose he had to abstain, and for good reason"...
He leaves for the North. "What distresses me is to look with sorrow at our Deauville, which we'll have to abandon for part of the summer and even into the autumn, if I want to complete some of my orders"...
