18K (750) gold ring, featuring a portrait of King Henri IV in profile crowned with an inscription mentioning him. Early 19th century. Finger size: 57. Gross weight: 2.6g (alterations)
An early 19th century Henri IV ring

Henri IV, the first Bourbon to become king, was particularly revered during the Restoration (1814-1815). It is therefore not surprising to find him depicted on jewelry from the French Revolution onwards. This representation is attested on other rings and is said to come from a model made by the famous Scottish glyptician James Tassie (1735-1799) in the British Museum. Anna Beatriz Chadour, Rings, The Alice and Louis Koch Collection, Leeds, 1994, p. 473
