Very fine proof on strong cream vellum watermarked "Van Gelder Zonen", from the edition of 250 proofs made by Fort for Vollard (of which only about fifty have survived), with the acid runs very visible. A few tiny spots of rust. Very light band of oxidation at the head on verso. All margins untrimmed. Provenance: Ambroise Vollard (1866-1939) then H. M. Petiet (1894-1980).
