Marc Mouclier (1866-1947)
The Corinth Omnibus, an illustrated vehicle for general ideas. Voyage 6, January 15, 1898; voyage 7, April 15, 1898. Reunion of 2 issues in deluxe copies on japon, very fresh. Fascicules [each filled 162 x 255, unfolded 323 x 510] illustrated by M. Mouclier, André Ibels, E. Couturier and L. Valtat, the 2nd by Mouclier. Very light dusting. Very rare.

This short-lived magazine, which has become extremely rare, was an illustrated supplement to La Critique, created by painter Marc Mouclier, a member of the Nabis. A total of twelve issues, produced in lithographic pencil and printed in zinc by Eugène de Solenière, were published quarterly from October 1896. The publication's cryptic title takes its cue from a Greco-Latin proverb: "Non licet omnibus adire Corinthum" ("Not everyone is allowed to enter Corinth"), and each issue is a "voyage" inviting readers to climb aboard this eccentric vehicle. Illustrations are mainly by Edmond Couturier, André Ibels, Gustave Jossot, Marc Mouclier and Louis Valtat - texts by Willy, Georges Bans, Alcanter de Brahm, Charles Fuinel, Émile Straus (under the pseudonyms Papyrus and Martine), Jean de Caldain and Marc Mouclier.
