SÜE & MARE - LOUIS SÜE (1875-1968) & ANDRÉ MARE (1885-1932) - LA COMPAGNIE DES ARTS FRANÇAIS N°247 of the référencier des artistes décorateurs, model created circa [1923-24]. Carved and coral-lacquered wood pedestal table. The circular base is carved with a stylized flower motif. The shaft is composed of four lanceolate, ribbed leaves, with a large sphere in the center. The circular tray with its skirted belt evokes the base. Circa 1920-1925. Used condition, scattered cracks, wear and stains. Hot-stamped with SÜE MARE and the horn of plenty mark under the tray and stamped with the horn of plenty mark under the base. Height: 71cm - Diameter: 90cm Provenance: Private collection, Brussels: Private collection, Brussels. Inherited from a grandmother who edited fashion publications during the Art Deco period.
