Yehudah Leib ben Zeev, Talmud Lashon Ha-Ivri Kolel Yesod Dikdouk Ha-Lachon. Vienna, Anton Schmidt, 1810.
In-8, half-leather binding with worn corners. Stamp of the Société de l'étude talmudique de Paris on the title page. Bookplate in Hebrew and French of Isaac Libermann in Saverne.

Isaac Libermann, son of Saverne rabbi Lazare Libermann, swore on his deathbed to his father that he would not convert to Christianity like some of his brothers, but instead succeed him as rabbi. In fact, he later became Chief Rabbi of Nancy. This book illustrates the difficult transition between the generation of Lazare the father, an eminent Talmudist who rejected anything resembling modernity and refused to learn French, and that of his children, who either converted or embraced modernity, accepting books other than the Talmud.
