MANUSCRIPT - ALSACE - USURE] Anonymous memorandum titled in the margin of the first page: "Usure. Juifs. Floréal an XI", on the lack of cash in Alsace and its consequences: usury and the Jews. 12 pp. folio, last two blank, in sheets. After two pages of general considerations, this memorandum, which appears from its text to have been addressed to the Emperor, aims to tightly limit the activity of the Jews, who are accused of seizing all the department's real estate by all sorts of illicit means. This document is typical of the attitude of part of the Alsatian bourgeoisie towards Jews obtaining French citizenship.
