CHANEL. Collection catalogs. [Paris], 1984-2015. - 50 Chanel catalogs with small label indicating season, in four black titled cases, except for 5 of them. Exceptional gathering of Chanel catalogs from the spring-summer 1984 collection to the fall-winter 2007-2008 collection, almost without interruption. Missing are the Fall-Winter 1999-2000 and Spring 2004 catalogs. This collection is marked by the arrival of Karl Lagerfeld from the 1988 collections onwards. Until Autumn-Winter 1993-1994, the catalogs are in-4 format (315 x 240 mm) and stapled. The Spring-Summer 1984 collection was photographed by Helmut Newton. The Autumn-Winter 1984-1985 collection (small tear) bears no photographer's name, followed by Albert Watson for Spring-Summer 1985 through to 1987, with the Autumn-Winter 1986-1987 collection being handled by Arthur Elgort. The Fall-Winter 1987-1988 collection was photographed by Oliviero Toscani, before Karl Lagerfeld took over for the Spring-Summer 1988 collection. For the Spring-Summer 1994 collection, the format of the catalog was changed (292 x 232 mm) and appeared in paperback, then in hardback from Autumn-Winter 1994-1995 to Spring 1997. A half cloth binding is produced for the Autumn-Winter 1997-1998 collection. The format and presentation then became varied (photographic portfolios, hardcover comic-book type albums, bistre photographs, Italian-style albums, postcard albums, metal-boxed sheet albums, etc.). Attached, again photographed by Karl Lagerfeld, is the catalog for the Fall-Winter 2015-2016 collection, "The French Collection" (298 x 229 mm, black half cloth slipcase, title on first cover). As well as the biography on Gabrielle Chanel, published by the House of Chanel around 1998, Chanel. Une femme d'avant-garde (Italian-style in-8, 210 x 294 mm). An important and rare collection.
