[BALLETS RUSSES].
Official program of the Ballets Russes. May 1917 season.
[Paris: M. de Brunoff, 1917]. - Brochure in-4, stapled, in triple covers, drawstring.

Official program of the Ballets Russes at the Théâtre du Châtelet for May 1917. Ballets from L'Oiseau bleu, Femmes de bonne humeur, Contes russes, Polovtsian dances from "Prince Igor", etc., are announced.

This program is sought-after because it includes color reproductions of costumes made by PICASSO for the ballet "Parade", including one on the cover, and an article by Guillaume APPOLINAIRE entitled "Parade" et l'Esprit nouveau".

A rare copy complete with all three covers, the one with Picasso's illustration and the other two similarly decorated with a vertical band of gilded geometric motifs, and a title in white within a horizontal blue band.

Some flaws in the booklet, soiling and small tears to the covers, inner edges of both covers of the Picasso-illustrated cover browned by transfer of a tab, the first being unravelled the second showing a small tear with missing lower edge. The second cover is lined.
