MAUSER & Cie OBERNDORF a / N WURTTEMBERG 1878 PATENT.", stamped on the underside "239" and stamped with an arrow. Closed frame, reholstered hammer. Barrel with zig-zag rifling. Checkered walnut stock plates. Ring cap. Length : 30 cm B.E. Blued finish. Scratches present. Manufactured from 1878 to 1896, when it was replaced by the C-96. It was the first handgun produced by Mauser. It is a "break-action" model, chambered in 10.6 mm in its military version, in 9 or 7 mm.
