Model 1777 flintlock infantry rifle of revolutionary manufacture. Round barrel with thunderbolts, stamped with "P" under a Phrygian cap. Lock signed "Mre de St Etienne", stamped S under a Phrygian cap. Round-bodied dog. Brass fittings hallmarked "G" under a circle. Mouthpiece with pin attachment. Hollow-cheeked walnut stock with hallmarks including one "BECON". Iron ramrod. With median ferrule bayonet and blade stamped "13" on the heel. Length: 52.7 cm A.B.E. (Patinated, screw and upper jaw of hammer missing).
