Nephrite penholder with applique decoration of a knotted ribbon. Moscow, late 19th century. Shaped like a boot puller, the lower edge is highlighted with a frieze of laurel leaves. The gold Louis XVI bow is centered on a garnet. Three small diamonds and two branches (the one on the left is missing) accompany the bow. Nephrite, 56 (583/1000th) gold, garnet and small diamonds.
