Leaves, in a raffia-covered publisher's folder, decorated on the first cover with an abstract composition of laminated black skin pieces, with riveted black skin fastening straps. Rare first edition of this collection of poems by André Verdet, printed in an edition of 79 copies on Aquarelle Arches papier torchon, plus a few copies hors commerce, signed by the author at the justification. It is illustrated with an original off-text lithograph, numbered and signed by PABLO PICASSO (1881-1973), printed by Fernand Mourlot, and an original off-text photographic portrait of the artist by André Villers. The front cover is decorated with an original skin design by André Verdet and Jean Chabert, with each copy having a different design. Publisher Jacques Goutal's copy, enriched with an original composition by André Verdet, painted in full-page black on the first leaf and dedicated: "Pour les amis // Goutal // A. Verdet // 64." A very well preserved copy. A small piece of the composition on the front cover is slightly detached. Provenance: Jacques Goutal, with consignment.
