PARIS 1749-1750 Ecuelle sans couvercle in silver, the body plain, engraved on the reverse with the number 9 under a star, applied with a later-period carnation on the body. The chased cast silver ears feature Louis XV decor on a rocaille background. The central part features a flower on a scale background in a symmetrical frame of scrolls, extended by rocaille and framed by two dolphin heads. Coral branches are shown at the ends. Master goldsmith: hallmark illegible Weight: 494 g - diameter at ears: 31.8 cm - outside: 18.8 cm Hallmarks: the ears are hallmarked on the reverse, on the circumference a clear discharge, charge and letter-date illegible. Condition: many knocks on the body (to be replanted).
