DREYFUS AFFAIR
Henri Dutrait-Crozon, Précis de l'Affaire Dreyfus avec un répertoire analytique. Paris, Nouvelle Librairie Nationale, 1909, XVI pp. c., 812 p. c. et un f. blanc sur papier bible, in one vol. in 18 in sheets.
A very interesting proof copy, abundantly corrected with sometimes even important additions in the spine (see e.g. p. 167) of the original edition of this fiercely antidreyfusard work, which was reprinted several times, each time with corrections, right up to the eve of the Second World War, thus helping to sustain anti-Semitism in France. The author, Frédéric Delebecque (1870 - 1940), grandson of Germain Delebecque, one of the founders of the Compagnie des Chemins de fer du Nord alongside James de Rothschild, was, under the pseudonym of Dutrait-Crozon, one of the most obstinate propagandists of the Action Française's anti-Dreyfusard theses, denying the accumulated evidence to such an extent that P. Vidal-Naquet considered him, on the scale of the Dreyfus Affair, to be one of the precursors of what would later become negationism.
