Extremely rare reprint of the French translation, published in the Guide Musical, of Wagner's famous anti-Semitic pamphlet published in German in 1850, in which the German composer develops his opinion that Jews, as eternal foreigners, are incapable of grasping the essence of Western language and music and its expressive dispositions, concluding that Jews, if they wish to "become men", must "cease to be Jews". The influence of this text on European anti-Semitism was considerable.
