FLAVIUS JOSEPHUS
Flavius Josephus, Omnia quae extant opera. Lyon, S. Gryphe, 1546, three vol. in 8°, full vellum antique binding, handwritten title on spine rewritten on the same title almost faded out in gothic letters throughout, red edges (minor wetness on a few pages, small tears in binding, otherwise a fine copy of an edition that is becoming difficult to find complete with its three volumes at the same date).
The book of the Maccabees, at the end, is in the version given by Erasmus, although the latter's name does not appear on the volume's title page. Baudrier VIII p. 203 makes no mention of the fact that volume III bears a "achevé d'imprimer" of 1539, and that its collation, 582 pp. c. and 1 f. of printer's mark, corresponds neither to that of the 1539 edition (Baudrier III 126), nor to that of 1546, both of which have 9 ff. n.c. after the end of the book of the Maccabees (a few 16th-century handwritten notes scattered throughout the volumes).
