ÉMILE GALLÉ (1846-1904) Underwater fauna and flora Rare and important vase on a heel; the base is swollen, the neck very flared and slightly ribbed. Proof in brown smoked glass; the rotating decoration in polychrome enamel and gold. The inside of the neck is also decorated with polychrome enamels. Large gold and silver leaves exploded in hot surface inclusions complete the decoration. Circa 1885-1895. Significant wear and damage to the decoration on the inside of the neck, wear and damage to the decoration at the base of the neck. Signed and located E. GALLÉ in Nancy, at the point below the base.
