Édith PIAF. Autograph manuscript, [ca. 1960]; 2pages in-4.
Draft of lyrics for a song.
On the verso of two mimeographed sheets (excerpt from a film script or radio play about Pocahontas and Smith), Piaf has written in blue ballpoint pen, probably for Théo Sarapo, the lyrics of this song, composed of two verses (huitains) and a refrain (sizain), with erasures and corrections.
"Under the sad sky of Paris
All along the dirty gray walls [...]
I walk like a sleepwalker"...
On the first page, below the refrain ("Tête baissée / Tête penchée"...), drawings of flowers and castles and attempts at names, probably by Theo Sarapo's sister Christie Lamboukas: "Lamboukas", "Lambo" and "Laume" [Christie Laume was the pseudonym adopted by Theo Sarapo's sister Christie, also a singer, after Piaf and Sarapo married in 1962].
