Édith PIAF. L.A.S "Pupuce", Davos February 20, 1946, to "Mon homme chéri" [Yves Montand]; 2pages in-4 on her letterhead (numbered "5th").
Love letter to Yves Montand during a tour of Switzerland.
She sang in St. Moritz, where "the hall was terrible for singing" but where she was a great success. She is due to sing "this afternoon for hospital patients and tonight I have my gala in the hotel; it seems that anything French here doesn't work": there were only twelve people for Georges Thill, who refused to sing. "After five days apart, "life is empty without the two of us together. Is the film going ahead?" [Montand is shooting Marcel Carné's Les Portes de la nuit]. Loulou [Barrier] has gone skiing, "he'll probably break his neck, we've already prepared stretchers to bring him back to Lausanne". Her accordionist Marcel Boniface "has a cute camera" that films "people in action, so he filmed his wife giving birth... it's awful". She ends with words of love: "Au revoir mon tout petit chéri, donne moi tes belles lèvres et tes beaux yeux... Je t'aime mon adoré" and signs "Ta petite femme rien qu'à toi pour toujours Pupuce".
