Star-shaped tile with hare decoration, Ilkhanid Iran, late 13th - early 14th century Eight-pointed star-shaped tile in siliceous ceramic with metallic lustre decoration depicting a hare leaping in front of floral stems and inscribed within a smaller lustrous star, all set against a predominantly cobalt-blue background. Height: 12.5 cm; width: 12.4 cm Slight chips around the edges.
