A polytechnician, then an engineer with the CPDE (Compagnie parisienne de distribution d'électricité) before the war, Gabriel Dessus suggested Robert Mallet-Stevens as the architect for the Palais de la Lumière at the 1937 Universal Exhibition, which was to house Raoul Dufy's Fée Électricité. Brother-in-law of painter Jean Lombard, he frequented many artists; several portraits of Gabriel Dessus by Léon Zack are still preserved in his descendants. Professionally, he held the highest positions at EDF from its creation in 1946. - Mme X., Paris. Granddaughter of the previous owner.
