Heritage 1914 Coral:
Part of the Héritage series, this technologically innovative collection celebrates the pioneering spirit of the early 20th century, and takes up the line of the Simplo Safety filler model, the great era of sober ebonite pens.
Montblanc's decorative star first appeared in 1914.
This numbered edition is the Grand Modèle version of its predecessor: the Héritage 1912 fountain pen. And the top-of-the-range version limited to 333 pieces (number 88).
The generous coral-colored lacquered metal body houses a retractable 18-carat yellow gold nib, which is activated by turning the end of the body clockwise. The long, soft nib and its special engravings were created especially for this edition.
Once the nib is extended, a two-notch screw mechanism controls the piston filling system.
There are no rings to disturb the harmony of this very pure line. The bottom of the body is embellished with a hollowed-out star in pale yellow 18-carat gold. The screw cap is topped by the brand's traditional emblem, a white star in iridescent mother-of-pearl covered by an extraordinarily large sapphire crystal.
A sober, faceted clasp in pale yellow 18-carat gold, in the style of the removable clasp rings on the original models.
The nib exit mechanism and piston system are broken. This can be repaired at Montblanc at a cost of at least 800 euros.
In its box with its papers and over-box.
