William Shakespeare 1597: 2016 edition of the Ecrivains collection, published annually since 1992 through which Montblanc honors the lives and works of the greatest icons in the history of literature. 2016 pays tribute to the English poet, actor and playwright, William Shakespeare, an eminent figure in Western culture who continues to influence artists today, and whose work was considerable. Born in 1564. For the second year running, Montblanc presents a limited edition of the Writers of the Year edition. The limited edition of 1,597 numbered pieces (number 375) features a red and blue enamel-worked guilloché metal body and a black and yellow gold-plated octagonal cap. The octagonal shape of the cap is inspired by the Globe Theatre, a wooden building famous in London for hosting numerous performances of William Shakespeare's plays, and for accidentally burning down during one of his last plays in 1613. In 1996, it was rebuilt identically, not far from its original site. Its current name is Shakespeare's Globe. The long, straight clasp ends in a ring, reminiscent of the gold earring in the Chandos Portrait, one of the presumed representations of the famous English playwright William Shakespeare. The two large engraved rings feature symbols from the author's most famous plays: a rose and dagger illustrate the story of Romeo and Juliet; a skull for Hamlet; two chess pieces for King Lear; a coat of arms for Henry V; a Moorish motif and sword for Othello; a crown for Macbeth; a whirlwind for The Tempest and a laurel wreath and "C" for Julius Caesar. Equipped with an 18-carat yellow gold nib, engraved with one of the most emblematic scenes from the play Romeo and Juliet, that of the balcony. Piston filling system. In its box with its papers and over-box and white protection.
