Napoleon 888:
The 2021 Montblanc Mécène edition pays tribute to Napoleon Bonaparte, whose life shaped history.
Limited series of 888 (number 700).
Napoleon's glory lives on today in the striking architecture of the famous Parisian structures built during his reign. Architecture aside, other art forms also flourished under his rule: painting, sculpture and the decorative arts.
The overall design of this edition is inspired by the neoclassical style.
The blue lacquer refers to the uniform of the same color he wore as consul, this edition paying homage to that period of his life.
The skeletonized twist refers to the famous Vendôme column. The sword-shaped clasp features the initial N.
Engravings on the top of the cap depict a laurel wreath, an imperial crown and an eagle, referring directly to the emperor's coronation regalia.
The cap is crowned with the Montblanc emblem in mother-of-pearl.
The end of the clasp is adorned with a red garnet, recalling the coronation ring of his wife, Josephine.
The 18-carat gold nib features a portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte with his emblematic bicorne. Plunger-filled.
