Gaius Maecenas 4810:
To mark the 20th anniversary of the Montblanc Mécène Edition, the brand pays tribute to the patron saint of patronage: Gaius Maecenas.
Number 3020 out of 4810 pieces.
The shape of the writing instrument is inspired by the columns of a Roman temple, while the body is finished in matt white lacquer. The first stanza of Horace's poetic ode to Maecenas appears on the cap, which, like the rings, is made of solid silver. A finely-worked laurel wreath wraps around the head ring.
Inscribed Gaius Cinius Maecenas, the cap ring bears the full name of history's first cultural promoter.
Set into the end of the body is a reproduction of an ancient Roman coin immortalizing the portrait of Gaius Maecenas. The clip is shaped like a sword with a gold-plated pommel.
Rhodium-plated 18-carat gold nib finely engraved with a laurel wreath and Roman numerals "MMXI", piston filling system.
In its wooden case with papers and over-box.
