Two beautiful corselets from the Hanau region (northwest of Strasbourg) in gold or silver brocade, circa 1875. The first in gold and silver brocade, orange-pink peony in full bloom on a capuchin background, back waists highlighted with silver filé; the second with a royal blue background, red star flowers and gold filé foliage, silk braid, black printed cotton straps, hemp lining.
