Oriental-style cavalry officer's saber, in the style of Mamluk officers. Handle with brown horn plates and chased brass lanyard eyelet. Brass mounting, guard with two auricles and two straight quillons ending in tassels. Beautiful curved blade with flat back and hollow sides, engraved, gilded and one-third blued. Sheet iron scabbard (minor pitting) with two brass bracelets. Asymmetrical iron sting. A.B.E. circa 1820-1830.
