Officer's sword. Mother-of-pearl plate spindle. Chased silver-plated brass mounting. Short-skirted pommel. Single-branch guard and keyboard decorated with a helmeted bust on a trophy of arms. Palmette-shaped quillon. Triangular blade, engraved in thirds, marked "IGB" on the heel (pitting). Leather scabbard (later and composite), two cut-out silvered brass fittings. A.B.E. 1810-1820.
