Imperial Guard mounted chasseur saber. Brass mounting. Basane-covered wooden handle with filigree. Hilt with one hollowed-out limb and two shuttle-edged mounts. Straight quillon ending in a faceted knob, bearing later Versailles hallmarks. Flat-backed curved blade, engraved "Mture Imple du Klingenthal Coulaux Frères", (partly retouched), with counter-edge and hollow sides. Brass scabbard stamped with two bracelets and a hollow. Iron ring and sting. A.B.E. First Empire model, later manufacture, with period blade.
