Leonetto CAPPIELLO (1875-1942) Typewriter, 1921 Mixed media and collage. Mounted on canvas. Signed lower right. (Small holes. Small stains). 159.5 x 119 cm Bibliography : Rennert, p. 125, no. 169, a poster for Remington. Cappiello's only referenced typewriter poster is for Remington. It depicts a secretary typing at her machine, surrounded by sheets of paper flying around her - one of his best. Our mock-up is probably preparatory research - the difference is that it's rollers that, coming out of the machine, fill the image with arabesques of the most decorative effect.
