In a rare move, Cappiello chose a dark frame on which to set the image against a white background. A clever composition in which the giant lion leaps to the left while staring at the bottle of anise brandished by the woman in the puffy red dress, tilted to the right, and a little something extra to catch the eye: the left foot sticking out of the picture!
