[GUILLERAGUES (Gabriel de)]. Lettres portugaises avec les responces traduites en francois. Lyon: Claude Muguet, 1674. - In-12, brown calf, ornate spine, speckled edges (period binding). Very rare first Lyon edition of the famous "Lettres portugaises" attributed to Gabriel de Guilleragues, published following the expiration of the privilege granted to Claude Barbin for 5 years in 1669. It contains the replies that first appeared separately in Grenoble in 1669, the first beginning with: "Adieu, Mariane, Adieu." A good copy in contemporary binding. Used rubbing, corners dulled. Tear without missing leaf D2. Scattered foxing.
