The text frame surmounted by a black and mauve dome with gilded pinnacle. Folio mounted as an album page with a later floral margin on a blue background. Size of folio: 23 x 15 cm; size of painting: 16 x 9.5 cm Laminated folio, folds, small stains, a few polychromatic breaks, repaints (notably on faces and floor). The text on this folio is taken from the nineteenth chapter of Nezâmî's Haft Paykar or Book of Seven Beauties, in which the Sassanid king Bahram V succeeds his father to the throne, as shown in the illustration.
