CÉLINE (Louis-Ferdinand). Féerie fragment inédit. Paris: Éditions du Fourneau, 1979. - In-12, 185 x 125: 27 pp, (2 ff. last blank), printed cover. Leaves, filled cover, publisher's folder and slipcase. First edition published by J.-P. Dauphin and H. Godard of what they present as the primitive version of a chapter from Féerie pour une autre fois I, taken from a bundle of 29 leaves found at the time. "Its interest lies in the fact that the story it tells is only alluded to in the novel. It's an untold story, which echoes a passage from Voyage au bout de la nuit: the wanderings of wounded men who, during the war, leave the Val-de-Grâce and are sent to a suburban hospital, where they eventually settle" (p. 17). The illustration includes an original lithograph by Gil as a frontispiece. Limited edition of 210 copies. One of 10 hors commerce, this one on japon nacré, with two signed proofs of the frontispiece, in black and sepia. Also included are a black and white photograph of a portrait of Céline by Gen Paul and a postcard by P.J. Dunbar, limited to 500 numbered copies, depicting a portrait of Céline captioned "Louis-Ferdinand Céline (1894-1961) pataphysicien", wearing the large white Gidouille of the interim perpetual president of the supreme council of the Collège de pataphysique. On the back of the card is an unsigned handwritten note from a pataphysician. A perfectly preserved copy.
