Deluxe edition, the first illustrated, with over sixty etchings by Paul-Albert LAURENS (1870-1934), including two cover vignettes, a frontispiece portrait and seven full-page compositions. Edition of 301 copies; one of 175 among 240 on Arches vellum paper, containing a state of the illustrations (no. 234). Exceptionally enriched with two suites on japon of the illustrations (with remarks and pure etching with remarks), each proof signed by Léon Boisson, with the exception of the portrait at the head, which is accompanied by a single proof on laid paper, signed by Laurens, who added this note: "Etat unique - Il n'existe pas d'Eau-Forte pure. AP. L. " Also included is an autograph letter signed by Paul-Albert Laurens, one in-12 page and the publication prospectus. Another document was included at the head, but has since been removed. A very fine copy bound by Chambolle-Duru. Spine very slightly faded. A few rare brown spots.
