There is a particular style of Chinese landscape painting called 青绿山水 - Qinglu Shanshui using mineral dyes, mainly green and blue. During the Song dynasty, artists and scholars would add is - 泥金 (composed of glue and powdered gold or other metals) to the pigments. These landscape paintings are 金碧山水 - Jinbi Shanshui. Our two paintings, using the same technique, can be compared with certain works by Gong Xian (1618-1689).
