Shakudo marugata tsuba, Japan, mid-Edo period. Decorated in iroe taka zogan on one side with Kwanyu and Liu Bei under a pine tree, observing a makimono. The other side, chiselled in shishiaibori and katakiribori, features the pine trunk and a terrace element with tokin highlights. The hitsu ana are capped with a nekogaki-coated shibuichi plate. To the right of the seppadai is engraved a Tsuneshige signature - 常重. Nara school. 8.1 x 7.9 cm
