Violent polemical and anti-Semitic article on the Dreyfus affair. It is useless to address "the good faith of Dreyfus's defenders", as it is non-existent; he therefore addresses the country to ask whether Dreyfus, without "German or Jewish high finance", could have found such a large number of defenders. There is no doubt that Dreyfus's innocence was bought: "The people alone, who cannot be bought, escape the omnipotence of this capital that many of those who thunder against it daily are recognizing and saluting in the humblest postures. To see socialists, Allemanists and anarchists bowing down to their saddlebags in this way must give the Jews a cranial idea of their power!" This power is "so absolute" that the government doesn't even attempt to resist it. "The authority of the Israelite vaults is felt even in the courtroom [...] the nugget-rolling pactole drags everything in its path.
