"He is offered the general farm of all M. de Sade's possessions in Provence. Under the following conditions: - he will be responsible for paying the arrears of all creditors, and for this he will be given up all that the nation owes since the sequestration and what could have been owed before the said sequestration [...] - He is given up the Ripert claim, the claims on the devastion of the Coste, and generally all that M. de Sade has to claim from the past as well as the present and the future, with the sole exception of land rents if they are re-established. - We do not wish to hear any talk of maintenance or repairs under any pretext whatsoever, and under any denomination whatsoever. - He will pay M. de Sade 5000F (five thousand francs) per year [...]. Under these conditions, everything will be ceded to Cit. Gauttridi, with whom we will enter into a lease for life, i.e. that of M. de Sade pere. [...] M. Gauttridi will be master to do whatever he wants with M. de Sade's property. Payments always made in gold or silver. We want the wife and children to sign the lease"...
