An amusing drawing sent from Venice, where he was staying with his friend Paul Porel, to congratulate Henri Meilhac the day after his election to the Académie Française. The two friends are seen sailing in a gondola. Porel holds a box marked Odéon, and Georges Clairin a palette with brushes. In a cloud, we see the dome of the Institut with a banner reading "Meilhac est élu!!!!!". This amusing drawing is sent "to Meilhac, the new member! Our compliments, Giorgio Clairini and Paolo Porelli".
