Cavalry officer's saber, oriental. Stock pommel. Ebony handle with oblique stripes (crack). Silver mounting chased with leaves and foliage. Guard with two long bolted straight quillons and two aurillons. Curved, flat-backed blade, engraved on the heel on a gold background and hallmarked. Leather-covered wooden scabbard with metal stitching, two large silver fittings and two silver bracelets, entirely decorated with interlacing scrolls and shells. A.B.E. (missing clevis spring blade, weld repair to scabbard edge). 1st part of the 19th century.
