Oriental-style infantry officer's saber. Checkered wooden handle. Brass mounting, lion's head pommel, hilt with two straight quillons and diamond-shaped auricles decorated with foliage, with chain (broken but complete). Blade with flat back and hollow sides, one-third engraved. Patent leather scabbard with two gilded brass fittings decorated with foliage. A.B.E. circa 1820-1830.
