Light cavalry officer's saber of the Guard scout type. Handle in stingray with double silver filigree. Chased and gilded brass mounting. Long-skirted cap. Three-prong hilt. Shuttle-shaped mounts and curved quillon decorated with foliage and piaster friezes. Curved blade with flat back and hollow sides, with remnant engraving of crossed flags. Iron scabbard with two brass bracelets decorated with stars in laurel wreaths. Asymmetrical iron stinger. A.B.E. circa 1810-1820.
