Light infantry officer's saber. Beautiful bronze mounting. Checkered wooden handle (cracked and repaired). Lion head pommel. Single-branch hilt chased with trophies of arms, two sequentially decorated shuttle-shaped auricles, leonine quillon curved towards the tip. Curved blade with flat back, counter-edge and hollow sides, engraved in thirds (pitted in places). Leather scabbard with two brass fittings (later). A.B.E. (composite).
