Officer's saber in the style of the Venetian legions. Grooved blackened wood handle. Gilt brass mounting. Single-branch hilt, body knot with winged lion's head on obverse and half-bow with crossed swords. Flat-backed curved blade signed "Coulaux & Cie Klingenthal". Leather scabbard with two brass fittings (one not to model). A.B.E. (missing clevis knob). Made at the end of the 19th century, in the Consulat style.
